I stumbled on your site today, have to admit you have some beautiful pictures. So, I decided to send a few pictures of my pond here in Redding California USA.

 

The pond is concrete, river rock and hundreds of sea shells, about 3000 gallons with a 300 gallon bio filter, I have a dozen or more Koi plus several dreaded goldfish. During the summer months the hyacinths can get pretty heavy so I use a Hula hoop as a feeding and viewing area. I also have several floating pots ( I used a cheap old black plastic pot, sprayed foam all around the rim then added shells for decoration... works  and floats like a charm)
